How to play now
Kennen joined Classic in Patch 26.16 with the old three-stack stun kit. Riot explicitly allows AP (Slicing Maelstrom engage) or AD auto-attacker routes. Current editor AP pages use Magic Penetration Marks and AP Quints. Official wiki pages were not created in the research window.
Patch 26.16 status
Official 26.16 notes add Kennen and state the kit is in a familiar old form, with AP and AD both intended.
Conflicts kept open
Official notes say Kennen can be played AP or AD. A 26.16 tracker sample for ADC uses Attack Speed runes. The AP editor page is shown first; the ADC tracker page is the conflicting route.
