Why this champion matters in Classic

Ryze's archived mana-scaling spell loop and Desperate Power ultimate represent a substantially different historical champion from modern Ryze. That makes source-era labels essential.

Historical playstyle

Overload, Rune Prison and Spell Flux form the recorded spell sequence, with Arcane Mastery and Desperate Power shaping cooldown/mana play. The item route starts Sapphire Crystal into Tear and Catalyst.

Role differences

Mid and Top are historical navigation labels, not launch role statistics. The stored Teleport/Flash pair also does not establish one mandatory lane.

Historical build logic

Tear and Catalyst anchor mana growth, then Rod of Ages and Archangel's extend it. Void Staff, Spirit Visage, Will of the Ancients and Frozen Heart are distinct damage or defense branches.

Key item interactions

The path depends on historical mana conversion and stacking. Launch item formulas and each spell's mana scaling must be verified together.
